Buying a house in New York City

Buying a house in New York City
I want to send for schooling to my son in New York City. My preferable
area is around Time Sq. area. I was to buy an economical house,
preferably one to two bed room set for my school going son. Please
suggest me some place at above area where I can buy a house for my
student kid. Also, please mention as to how much I need to spend on
such kind of house.
